Hello guys, i am about to build my very first fpv setup which i have posted for some advice and help here https://intofpv.com/t-first-build-need-help-suggestion . I have some questions and need help again for building and setting it up. My setup is;
--- {Holybro Kakute F7 + 65A ESC stack}, --- {TBS Unify Pro32 HV}, --- {Brotherhobby 2507 1500kv}, ---{FrSky Slim+ OTA receiver}, ---{Beitan 880-Q gps}, --- {JH42B buzzer}, ---{Flywoo Mr. Croc HD 7" frame}, --- { Taranis X9D+ SE 2019  + R9M 2019}, ---{Skyzone Sky03o}, ---{Foxeer Falkor 2 Mini}  + CNHL 4S 5000Mah + CNHL 6S 4000Mah and I have 2 types of props Dalprop 7056 and HQ7x4x3

My friend will bring my items in a week so i have started to watch some vids about setup and build. I got few questions about it;

First of all, my batteries have XT90 plug so how should i use them? buying an XT90 pigtail for esc or using a xt90 to xt60 adapter or cutting xt90 from battery and replace with xt60?  

Secondly, my Rx is Slim+ OTA and module is R9M as i see there are few options for FrSky s.port and f.port and as a firmware flex or fcc. Which protocol should i use which one is more reliable and stable or better anyways? Which firmware should i go with fcc or flex?

3rd, VTX has filtered and regulated 5v, is it better to power the cam from vtx or fc?

4th, I am going to do; 1st : Update Taranis + receiver + R9M module to latest firmware,

                                2nd : Build the quad according to wiring diagram (attached),

                                3 : Bind the receiver,

                                4 : Flash BetaFlight to FC,

                                5 : Setup betaflight (motor check, receiver check, arm/gps rescue/fly mode, vtx table, smart audio, osd, etc.)

I have watched bunch of videos about building, betaflight setup, receiver binding and firmware update and some beginner guides etc and as a conclusion i made the list above. I hope i am not missing anything if so please tell me .  And i have attached my wiring diagram if something is wrong or missing something please let me know. Can hardly wait to build and fly around

I have an iFlight MegaBee with the DJI air unit. Trying to get it set up to use with DJI controller. Already activated and bound them together, I can see video but no controls. So I tried to connect to betaflight.

I’m getting nothing. It won’t connect. I downloaded all the drivers and zadig. I just get a bulk interface when it’s plugged and impulse rc won’t recognize. Can someone help? This bnf has been a total pain.

Help please!!

Hi all, haven't looked around here much yet, but am interested in true FPV from the many great things I've seen online.
Been a DJI owner for a bit over 3 years, a Mavic Pro and a Spark, enjoy cinematic flights with those, or hooting around especially with the Spark in Sports mode (great attitude).
But also love the great cinematic vids FPV pilots get with their customised hand build drones, have a few subs to channels on YouTube.

Not sure where I'll start, it's mind boggling what's out there in the marketplace.
For now, I have the DJI RE goggles, and am getting used to flying the M1P and the Spark with these.
Once I get game to fly through some more openings with those (with the Spark), I'll probably hit a simulator with a good controller for a while, then maybe get a whoop to practice the real thing.
Something I can crash a bit and not destroy the drone or the finances.

I'm dead keen to help spread the word on remote ID proposal FAA have introduced for public comment, and have already submitted my online comments regardless of it being half a World away.
GOVCOs Worldwide do follow each others lead, and for FPV particularly this concept is a huge hurdle to get past for you folk in the US.

Does the FPVFC take international membership ?

Look forward to reading up a lot, probably search a lot to research things, and when I move a bit more into this ask some questions where needed.

This is my 2nd toothpick project.  A backyard 2S flyer.  Based on the same frame as my first attempt.

• LeDrone club pickle frame - 65mm / 2.5" prop size
  
• JHEMCU Play F4 AIO FC with 5A BLHeli_S 1-2S 4in1 ESC
  
• RacerStar 1103B - 10,000KV motors
  
• crappy clone frsky RX with diversity antennas and telemetry
  
• HGLRC nano VTX
  
• Runcam racer nano 2 camera
  
• GEMFAN 2.5" props (I think, lost the packet)
  

2S 520mAh GNB pack.   GIF speed is a little faster actual speed. Not much though!

Some takeaways..

The pickle frame is a bare bones kits, you get the basics.  The provided camera "canopy" is a few thin strips of TPU - I used a design from thingiverse printed in TPU instead.   It is a very cheap frame though and you can buy a few without hurting the pocket.

The JHEMCU flight controller is the cheapest F4 whoop AIO controller on banggood, it works a treat but is only rated to 2S so best paired with high KV motors if you want some speed out of it.   The motors pads are hell, very close and very small.  You are provided with motor plugs to solder on the board if you want but I direct soldered.   

The racerstar motors are cheap but perform well.  The top end doesn't have much variance but the low end controll on the throttle is pretty good.  They seem to be able to turn tri-blade props pretty well.  I haven't had much time to compare with 65mm bi-blades but I will put them on soon.

I forgot the name of the clone RX.  it was like $10 on banggood.   It has diversity RX and telemetry and a usuable distance of approx 50m.  lol.  Shit as.  I will change it out soon.

Unlike the RX, my choice of VTX was better.  The HGLRC nano VTX is smaller than my thumbnail.   Works well and great video when paired with the dipole antenna that it comes with.  25 and 50mW is available. 

Running RPM filters on 16.77 BLHELI_S firmware.  Have moved the filter sliders up 2-3 notches and no fly-aways and warm motors at most.
Working on PIDS.

Will post builds pics soon.  This was a real bugger to build.   Still balancing karma by flying it after work each day before I post more pics, lol..

Hello everyone,

I recently bought a Mamba F405 mini mk2 stack and after assembling everything, I have OSD but no video reception!

After some time troubleshooting it, I found out that it works well if the video wire from the camera is connected directly to the VTX, but, of course, I get no OSD as it's not passing through the FC. If I connect it to the FC, then, I have OSD but no video...

Any idea of what can I be doing wrong? I already tried another camera and the same happens.

lately I think I have lost the lack of clarity I had left, I can no longer solve simple things on my own.
today betaflight no longer saves me pid completely,
I usually use sliders, and I always find them as I had left them after each save, lately BF does strange things
I have tried on 3 different FCs. I have not made BF updates.

Really disappointed wit these guys, I pre-ordered a Jumper T16 on 2-12 (thy were out of stock with no future receive date noted). My credit card was charged via Paypal even though they dont have any in stock and are waiting until they get some from China. The next day 2/13 I cancelled the order and was advised they would cancel the order and put the refund balance on a store gift card. I told them that was unacceptable and I wanted a full refund. I have heard nothing from them since the first message I got on 2/13. I have replied to their helpdesk communications twiice and have not heard anything from them. Not even a we are working on it. So I contacted Paypal, sent them the email chain from Helination, and they are refunding the money to my credit card. I cannot for the life of me understand how they cant even send a not that they are working on it. I got better service from an order i cancelled from Bangood. They won't get anymore of my business.

The first official release of DCL dropped today. 15% off for a limited period (until 25th February 2020). 

However, even with the discount, it's still more expensive in comparison to the other top level simulators, so I think expectations are probably going to be quite high. I've not played it so I can't give any insight or feedback as to how it compares to the other sims.

For any UK pilots you who are members of the FPVUK or the BFMA (or the lesser known SAA or LMA clubs) and who were intending to cave in under pressure and register themselves as a UAS operator, the deadline which was originally set as 31st January 2020 and then further extended to 23rd February 2020, has now been extended yet again to 30th June 2020. So as an FPVUK members you can continue legally flying unregistered until July without having to hide in the bushes  

Details of this were released yesterday in a document #1345 of the Air Navigation Order 2016 under General Exemption E 5006. See the link below...

Maybe if enough people continue to forego registration and payment of this annual drone "tax" nonsense, then hopefully the penny will eventually drop with the CAA whereby they begin to realise they are haemorrhaging money hand over fist in trying to maintain and support a pointless drone registration system that no-one is signing up to, and as a consequence, end up scrapping the whole charade. We can only live in hope.

I was surfing on reddit on my break and ran into a conversation between two people. One claims the D8 Mode is hidden in OpenTX for newer frsky transmitters. 2 people with 2019 X9Ds were suggested this

y someone who says their radios can do D8 mode. Read for yourself, is this new information or is the guy wrong?
I was tempted to join in but after reading it over and over again could that guy be wrong before I follow that guys suggestion too? I dreamed of my x9d 2019 bieng able to use d8 mode since it came out. Maybe this is real.

Hello everyone! I recently bought a 3DR Solo which I'm enjoying very much. Now I want to build something faster and more agile. Below I'll list everything that I've added to my cart so far. Please help me complete the build so I don't miss any components or choose something that isn't compatible with the rest.

Frame: HSKRC TWE210
Flight Controller: Racerstar StarF4S 30A
Motors: DYS Samguk Series Wei 2207 (I chose 2600kv variant)
Props: Gemfan 5045 5 Inch Propeller Bullnose 2 CW & 2 CCW
Transmitter+Camera: Eachine NANO VTX
Goggles: Eachine EV800DM
Remote Controller: FlySky FS-i6 2.4G 6CH AFHDS
Gimbal: FPV 2 Axis Brushless Gimbal With Controller
Battery: ZOP Power 14.8V 7500mah x2
Battery straps: 10PCS Eachine Lipo Battery Tie Down Strap
Some LEDs: 4PCS FLYWOO Frame Arm LED

Please advise if any of these parts are incompatible with each other. Also a couple of questions, is this gimbal mountable on this frame? Will this battery give me a decent flight time (at least 10mins)?

So, what gives? What would make this happen?

Unobstructed view and flying at less than a 90°angle from me. I have DVR I'll post after work, but you can hear all go quiet, then a nice roll at 55mph into the ground, hehe.

No blackbox SD card, which I've now remedied, but when hooked to Betaflight it showed RX LOSS or whatever in the alarms/flags area.

No damage beside a motor full of mud, and shredded props of course.

Ideas?

I tried to flash sp f3 fc using betaflight to 4.0.6 fw.
The original fw was 3.0.6

When i connect the fc for the 1st time, the led will be solid blue, without pinching the boot pins.
But the flash failed On verify the firmware session.
So i tried to pinch the pins, and got solid blue, then tried again.

Flash failed again on verify session.

Tried several times with the same result.

And then i installed cleaflight. And have no problem to connect. And then i realized, the firmware version has been changed to the 4.0.6. Checked using CLI, it stated 4.0.6

And i tried to check with betaflight, and it stated 4.0.6

The question is, did i success updating my FC ? Or this FC is installed with broken firmware ? Since i never got the flashes done completely. The flashes always failed on verify session.

Please help me out

Update :
I tried to flash using cleanflight, with the same result, failed when verify, but the fw version updated.

Going back to betaflight to flashing, the result still the same. And i tried to look around to see the feature, and it seems there are a lot of new feature showed up in betaflight. I dont know if this is the configurator feature, or this is the new feature that came along with the new firmware.

So, I'm thinking I need a set of spectator goggles. I'm not talking HDO's or Orca's, but I don't want junk.

My brother and I were flying a week or so ago and an older gentleman and his granddaughter were at the park. They were intrigued in a positive way with our "toys". Once my brother let them look through his goggles he was floored.

I just think that having an extra set for the occasional incidental spectator would really help.

a charger display internal resistance as „mr“, what does this mean, probably „mesured resistance“?
is it the same as „ohm“?

i use old chargers and havent another tool to mesure and compare at the moment.
